Anna Yang (Barnard College ’29) designs through the female lens, exploring how fashion intersects with the environment, gender, politics, and history. Growing up between Wuxi, China, and Orange County, California, and now based in New York City, she draws on her multicultural background and early years in ballet, where tulle and pink ribbons shaped her aesthetic and feminine perspective. For Yang, fashion is an extension of her identity and her way of understanding the world. In turn, her deeply personal designs become her voice for activism.
